Of The Fear of Falling
If you do something stupid, what then?
It is sometimes a mistake to climb; it is always a mistake never to even make the attempt.
If you do not climb, you will not fall. This is true. But is it that bad to fail, that hard to fall?
Sometimes you wake, and sometimes, yes, you die. But there is a third alternative...sometimes when you fall, you fly.

Of Insubordination
"Word of advice," said Gaunt, cutting in sharply. "You do not ever want to mess with me. Bite your tongue, find me someone more useful than yourself, and never threaten me again. Are we clear?"

Of Murphy's Law
'In war, one must prepare for defeat. Defeat is the most insidious of our foes. It never comes the way we expect.'
